GAMBLER TENSION HINOKI FLARED HANDLE
The Tension Hinoki is the powerhouse of the Gambler line. Tension Hinoki has deep resonating power designed for ending points in a decisive show of dominating speed and spin. This blade has a very solid feeling, with most coming in at around a modest 86 grams. Skinned with 2 beautiful layers of Hinoki, this blade is a work of art. Given power by the underlayment of Carbon imbued with micro Arylate, this blade is for the all out attacker.
I have used this blade for about twenty hours now and overall I like it. Its my favorite of the new gambler composite blades. Aesthetically it looks very nice, the craftsmanship is on par and its nice that it comes with a light (but sufficient) factory seal. I think the new gambler logo isn't nearly as cool as the spade but its no big deal. It plays pretty well, definitely has a stiffer feel in my opinion. Its the fastest blade Ive used, I have the same rubber on it as on a lkt instinct+ and this blade is perceptibly faster, but not a lot. I think I prefer a little softer feel but that isn't a knock on the blade, just a personal preference. Overall I recommend this blade, it seems it would fit someone who drives the ball a lot as opposed to big loops, and I have a harder time in the short game with this blade but part of that is I don't like the rubber I put on the BH. Definitely an offensive blade though.
I ordered one of each blade for delivery to Russia, I have had for 3 weeks now. GAMBLER TENSION HINOKI this blade comes with warning that it is for the all out attacker it is not a joke. This blade is too fast for my game however I did expect it to be, I give to my partner and he use TG3 Neo he attacks everything he can, and he loves the blade very very fast this is no joke. This blade is very pretty outer ply of Hinoki and thick layer of fast carbon, beautiful blade but too fast for my OFF- game. I still give 4 star as blade is like 150+USD quality.
Not for the faint of heart! If you have good / soft hands and need a tool to finish weak balls this is a great fit. I could loop from the back of the court, do nasty punch blocks and generally speed up any incoming shot with not a lot of motion. I can see this blade as a Gergely or Sardious back up or replacement as it has that speed and feel to it. Still a nice serving blade with the Hinoki outer plies, it just prefers to be used at full speed.
This is another example of a very good blade by Gambler. It's marketed as Gambler's powerhouse, and I have to agree. This blade is unapologetically offensive, but is well balanced, light, with little flex. An attacker's best friend, but probably not a great fit for those with defensive styles. If you have a good touch and can control it when needed, this is hard to beat for offense. I wouldn't say it's great for looping, but it makes some wicked-fast drives with decent spin. Those with a weaker BH may want to tame it down with a softer sponge option. A great looking, and well constructed blade. Recommended.
I just received this blade today. I tried it out. I really like its speed and control. Match it with softer Japanese Yasaka Rakza 9 and Rakza X MAX. It has excellent control for the looping game. Pushing is also good. The slight flex of the blade and the soft feel really fit my looping style.
