GAMBLER GXM (WHITE SPONGE)
Gambler GXM is made specifically for hitting, chopping, and aggressive style of defensive play. The pips are very small and widely spaced. GXM has much more control when hitting than long pips yet still manages to produce a strange dead ball to elicit mistakes from your opponent.
*White sponge version has more control and slightly less speed.
*Red sponge version has more speed and slightly less control.

I decided to switch to 1.5mm from 1mm to get more attacking potential. My conclusion... is that 1.5mm is an all out attack rubber. Great if you have the footwork and aggression, but physically it's just too demanding for me. The speed is very strong and the spin killing traits make returns very difficult. It's also very inconsistent as the rubber spins harder vertically than horizontally, so you have to re learn a lot of strokes. I feel it's amazing for a very niche use, but it's just not for me.
Great rubber for spin to dead ball play. Since it generates spin it is only ok for serve return. Blocking is easy and accurate
Using 1mm sponge. This rubber does not make much spin. It plays like a true medium pip with spin reversal on flat shots and no spin when stroked. I found it subpar for chopping. Shots normally made with long pips do not work that well either as this rubber does not have sufficient spin reversal and is too fast. So why the 5 Stars? This rubber is by far the best hitting/blocking rubber I have ever used. It is a hammer that you literally whack every shot down with. If you have an unconventional forehand like myself that hits/blocks vs loops or would like an aggressive backhand for close to the table play, I highly recommend this rubber. I feel this rubber won't work for the majority of players due to the limited shots it can make. But for the ones it does work for, it is amazing.
